California photographer, James F. Danis (b. 1953 Los Angeles) created the primary catalogue of his works in the late 1960's thru 90's. His popular black and white photographs were for sale regionally throughout the U.S. during the 1980's and 90's. Danis was the recipient of over fifty awards nationally including the Los Angeles Times Home and Hasselblad National Gold awards.
Danis used state-of-the-art archival hextone pigmented inks on coated Museo watercolor paper. This gives an unbelievably rich and ultra mat finish. To make these prints, the conventional black and white camera negative was digitally scanned, adjusted and test printed numerous times. The finished print was then matted to Library of Congress specifications for conservation using four-ply linen taped bright white museum boards with polyester positioning corners. Danis completed all processes personally. (Information sourced from artist brochure)
